Sea salt/ear piercing help?

I recently got my 1 year old daughters ears pierced. I was using the solution they gave me at the place that did it,but ran out of the stuff today. I have the monroe piercing and used sea salt to clean it and its completely fine and healed. So I plan on using that on hers,but I'm just wondering how long you have to soak it for. Because she's letting me dab at it,but she won't let me sit there and soak it. Will this keep it clean or does it have to soak for a while??
