Underactive thyroid, will I grow out of it.?

I think I have an underactive thyroid and I am going to get tested for it soon. I read on the internet that older children can grow out of hypothyroidism. I am 17 and have no history of thyroid problems in my family, am I likely to grow out of the condition?
