Is the Jehovahs Witnesses efforts to suppress the allegations of child abuse within its ranks evil?

A religious organisation is a business. Its leaders, call them CEOs, imams, priests or 'elders', have a responsibility to protect the brand. In this case, allegations of child abuse could seriously harm the Jehovah's Witness brand and cost the organization a lot. Suppressing these allegations is very wrong, but I wouldn't call it "evil". After all, what else could you expect from any self serving organization.
