Here's a question for all you math wizards out there...?

If you have a jacket on sale for $300.00, but it's 15% off; how much would you end up paying for the jacket. This is without taxes and all that extra **** added into the equation. I keep getting conflicting answers from people saying 255 or 265. If you come up with an answer, I want you to also show me how you worked out the problem. Evidently, my answer is wrong so I'm ah need some help on this one.
