Should a civics course be required in order to get voter registration?

Yes, I agree. Even if we were not to require a civics course to obtain a voter registration, a short test which asks questions about a candidates positions would do wonders in raising the level of awareness of your average voter. If you have no idea what a candidates positions are you have no business being near a voting booth in my opinion, because your actions could hurt the country as easily as they could help. People all to often shirk the responsibility that comes along with their rights and if it continues it will be the downfall of us all.
