I need help ...how do i file packets for suing for joint legal custody? im in davidson county nc?

i got all packets from legal aid from Raleigh nc but i call to get help filing no help at all I'm disabled and im thinking about just going to court house and filing i know i will get discount being disabled if i fill out a affidavit anyone can help or have lawyer contacts please let me know
